Kadeem Jack and Chris Perry Earn First Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the first winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the 2013-14 season.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kadeem Jack • Jr. • F • Rutgers
Jack doubled his previous career high in scoring as he poured in 30 points on 12-of-18 shooting to lead Rutgers to a 92-84 win against Florida A&M. Jack, who had not scored more than 15 points in a game prior to this season, delivered three dunks and was 6-of-7 from the free throw line while adding 12 rebounds for his second career double-double.

 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Chris Perry • Fr. • F/C • USF
Perry scored the most points by a USF freshman in a season-opener since 2006 as he scored 14 points with seven rebounds and two blocks in a 72-62 win against Tennessee Tech. Perry, who shot 7-of-10 from the field, had an assist and two steals in 27 minutes off the bench.
 
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Sean Kilpatrick • Sr. • G • Cincinnati
Scored 22 points with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in a 74-61 win against North Carolina Central.
 
Shabazz Napier • Jr. • G • UConn
Had team highs in scoring (18), rebounds (7) and assists (7) in a 78-77 win against Maryland.
 
Danuel House • So. • G • Houston
Had game highs of 24 points and eight rebounds in a 76-70 win against Texas State.
 
Russ Smith • Sr. • G • Louisville
Scored 21 points with five assists in a 70-48 win against College of Charleston.
 
Dalton Pepper • Sr. • G • Temple
Scored a team- and career-high 19 points with nine rebounds and three assists in a 78-73 win at Penn.
