The American Athletic Conference has announced the women’s basketball Players of the Week for Week Two of the college basketball season.
Player of the Week
Bria Hartley • Sr. • G • UConn
Over the course of three games this past week, Hartley averaged 19.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists in three wins over ranked opponents. Hartley’s 20 points led UConn against No. 3/3 Stanford last Monday, followed by a 10-point, six-assist performance against No. 8/7 Maryland on Friday. She matched her career high with 29 points against No. 13/15 Penn State on Sunday, which included five three-pointers, and added six rebounds and four steals.
Freshman of the Week
Feyonda Fitzgerald • Fr. • G • Temple
Fitzgerald led Temple in a 2-0 week, recording 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists against Delaware. She followed with an 18-point, five assist and three rebound performance against Auburn, netting four treys on the game. Her final three-point bucket put Temple ahead with 24 seconds remaining for its final lead of the 78-74 win.

Asia Taylor • R-Sr. • F • Louisville
Averaged 15 points and eight rebounds in the final three rounds of the Preseason WNIT to lead the Cardinals to the title.
Kahleah Copper • So. • F • Rutgers
Earned first career double-double against Northeastern with 26 points and 11 rebounds and averaged 19 points and seven rebounds on the week.
Courtney Williams • So. • G • USF
Leads USF in scoring this year while coming off the bench, averaging 17 points and 7.5 rebounds in USF’s two wins this week.
Keena Mays • Sr. • G • SMU
Dropped 25 points, including 22 in the second half and overtime periods, to lead SMU over TCU and followed with 15 points and eight rebounds in a win over Eastern Washington.
Tyonna Williams • Jr. • G • Temple
Sits atop Temple’s roster with her 16.7 points per game and 15 assists after scoring 29 points against Auburn, which included a perfect 8-8 performance from the free throw line.
