UConn's Dolson and UCF's Lewis Take Weekly Honors

The American Athletic Conference has announced the women’s basketball Players of the Week for Week Three of the college basketball season.

Player of the Week
Stefanie Dolson • Sr. • C • UConn

Dolson led UConn through a 4-0 week, averaging 18.5 points, 12 rebounds and 5.8 assists. On Nov. 20, she recorded only the second triple-double in UConn history with 26 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists in a win against Oregon. Dolson followed that performance with two double-doubles in three games for the Huskies in the Hall of Fame Classic.

Freshman of the Week
Zykira Lewis • Fr. • G • UCF

Lewis has been a standout performer in her first year at UCF, sitting as the only Knight to score in double figures in all five games this season. Last week, she averaged 13.5 points and 6 rebounds in two games, including 13 in a win over Georgia State and a team-leading 14 points against Charlotte.


Honor Roll
Shoni Schimmel • Sr. • G • Louisville

Led Louisville last week with her 17-point, 4-rebound and 3.5-assist average through two games, shooting 41 percent from the field and 42 percent from three-point range.

Rachel Hollivay • So. • C • Rutgers
Hollivay averaged 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6.5 blocks for Rutgers on the week, including a career-high 26 points, 13 rebounds and 9 blocks in a win over Howard.

Tyler Scaife • Fr. • G • Rutgers
The American Athletic Conference Preseason Freshman of the Year was an all-around presence, averaging 10.5 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists in Rutgers’ 1-1 week.

Courtney Williams • So. • G • USF
Continued her solid season averaging 15.5 points on the week for USF, including a career-high 23 against North Carolina Central.

Keena Mays • Sr. • G • SMU
Mays averaged 18 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5 assists on SMU’s week to help lead the Mustangs to their current 5-0 record.
