Temple’s Walker, UConn’s Mack, UCF’s Hall Earn Weekly Football Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the 14th week of the college football season.

Walker finished his outstanding freshman season with what might have been his best performance of the year as he completed 20 of 32 passes for 328 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-21 win at Memphis. Facing a team that was ranked 16th nationally in total defense, Walker accounted for 387 yards of offense. Walker ended his rookie year with 20 touchdown passes, coming two shy of Temple’s single-season record and 2,084 passing yards, completing 60.8 percent of his passes..
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Mack • Sr. • CB • UConn • Powder Springs, Ga.
Mack keyed a UConn secondary that limited Rutgers to 47-percent passing for the game, while he came up with two fourth-quarter interceptions to preserve the Huskies’ 24-17 win against the Scarlet Knights. Mack had seven tackles, one tackle for loss and two pass breakups in addition to his two picks. Mack’s second interception came on the UConn 13-yard line with 1:58 left, allowing the Huskies to hold on to the 10-point lead.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Rannell Hall • Jr. • WR • UCF • Miami, Fla.
Hall finished with 229 all-purpose yards to help UCF clinch at least a share of the first American Athletic Conference title with a 23-20 win against USF. He averaged 44.3 yards on four kickoff returns, with all four going for at least 33 yards, finishing with 177 yards in returns.

Had seven receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown in a 34-0 win against SMU.
 
Sam Craft • Fr. • WR • Memphis • Olive Branch, Miss.
Had 131 all-purpose yards and scored three touchdowns (one receiving, two rushing) in a 41-21 loss to Temple.
 
Robby Anderson • So. • WR • Temple • Melrose Park, Fla.
Had seven receptions for 96 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-21 win at Memphis.
