PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference has announced winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball honors for games ending Dec. 28.

Jenkins had her ninth double-double of the season and just missed a triple-double (12 points, 13 rebounds, eight blocks) in NR/RV USF’s conference opening win over East Carolina. The junior shot 5-8 from the field and fell one block shy of the single-game program record. Jenkins had four points and two rebounds in the final six minutes of play to help seal the win for the Bulls as the Pirates whittled the USF lead down to single digits.

Freshman guard Kia Nurse scored 13 points on 4-for-7 shooting to go along with a career-high seven assists against only one turnover and four steals in No. 2/2 UConn’s win over SMU on Saturday. The Huskies improved to 3-0 all-time vs. the Mustangs with the win. Nurse ranks second in The American and 29
th in the NCAA in assist/turnover ratio (2.53).
