PALM COAST, Fla. –
Louisville shot a 51-over-par 915 to win the 2014 American Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Championship by one stroke on Tuesday at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla.

The Cardinals shot rounds of 314, 302 and 299, and placed three individuals among the top-10. UCF, which shot the second-lowest round of the day on Tuesday, finished second with a three-round 52-over-par total of 916 (307-305-304). SMU was third with a 64-over-par total of 928 (315-306-307).

SMU sophomore Jenny Haglund won individual medalist honors with a three-round two-over-par total of 218 (76-71-71).

Louisville’s Emily Haas (75-77-71) was the individual runner-up with a seven-over-par total of 223. UCF’s Ashley Holder placed third with a three-round total of 224 (76-74-74).
 
The Cardinals and the Knights were tied heading into the final stretch, but Louisville capitalized on consecutive UCF bogeys at holes 17 and 18 to take the come-from-behind-win.

NCAA Women’s Golf Regionals take place May 8-10.
