PALM HARBOR, Fla. – UCF (4-over 572) has a one-stroke lead after two rounds of action at the American Men's Golf Championship Monday afternoon at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club.
Second place SMU moved to 5-over 573 and leads Houston (10-over 578) by five strokes heading into the final round. USF is fourth at 11-over 579 and Louisville is fifth at 11-over 579 after shooting a second-round best 281.
SMU’s Bryson Dechambeau fired a 3-under 68 to take the individual lead while UCF teammates Linus Viasanen (3-under 139), Greg Eason (1-over 143) and Ricardo Gouveia (1-over 143) are each ranked in the top-10. Viasanen is second while Eason and Gouveia are tied for sixth.
USF’s Chase Koepka shot a 2-under 69 for third place. Houston’s Roman Robledo and SMU’s Austin Smotherman are tied for fourth at even-par 142.
The final round of the 2014 American Men’s Golf Championship will begin Tuesday at 8 a.m. eastern. An awards ceremony and trophy presentation will take place shortly following the conclusion of the final round.
