PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After their performances in the final week of the regular season, USF pitcher Jimmy Herget and UCF first baseman James Vasquez captured the last baseball weekly awards of the 2014 season.
Herget capped an outstanding regular season by capturing his first weekly award of the year. The sophomore shut out Georgia Tech over seven innings, the seventh time this season he has not allowed an earned run. He scattered five hits a struck out nine Yellow Jackets in the victory. Herget closes the regular season with a 1.28 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 98.1 innings pitched.
Vasquez provided a big bat for UCF, which won two games on the week including a victory over No. 4/4 Florida State, and clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. The first baseman hit .533 on the week with five RBI, scoring five runs. He also drew three walks for a .632 on-base percentage. On the year, Vasquez is second in the league with 50 RBI and fourth in the conference in both batting average (.340) and on-base percentage (.444).

Brian Ward, LHP, Sr., UConn
Ward went the distance in the opening game of a doubleheader against Rhode Island, tossing a complete-game shutout with just three hits surrendered, his second consecutive complete game.
Jared Robinson, RHP, Jr., Houston
Robinson posted a dominant relief outing to lead the Cougars to a win over No. 14/15 Rice. Robinson threw 4.2 innings and allowed just two hits and no runs to collect his fourth relief win of the year.
Gaby Rosa, RHP, Fr., Rutgers
Rosa concluded a strong debut season with six shutout innings against Memphis, allowing just five hits. Rosa has not allowed an earned run in five of his 10 starts this season.
Anthony Kidston, RHP, So., Louisville
Kidston allowed just two hits in a seven-inning complete game shutout against Cincinnati in the season finale, striking out six. The righty improved to 11-0 in his college career.
Matt Hockenberry, RHP, Sr., Temple
Hockenberry pitched six innings in a victory over No. 16/16 Houston without allowing an earned run, scattering just three hits.
