Louisville Tops Temple in #AmericanSB Quarterfinals

HOUSTON - No. 3 seed Louisville used four home runs, including two by Kayla Soles, to defeat Temple, 5-3, in the quarterfinals of the American Softball Tournament Thursday afternoon at Cougar Stadium. The Cardinals advance to the semifinals to face No. 2 seed USF on Friday at 5 p.m. eastern.

Katie Keller went 2-for-2 with two runs for Louisville (34-20), while Soles drove in game-high three RBIs. Kaylyn Zierke had a 3-for-3 outing for the Owls, who fell to 15-30 with the loss.

Kelsey Dominik pitched a complete game for Temple and gave up eight hits in the loss. Louisville's Maryssa Becker got the win for the Cards, which used a combined three pitchers to get past the Owls.
