HOUSTON - No. 2 USF held off a late rally by No. 7 Memphis to advance to the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Softball Championship.
The Bulls took an early 5-0 lead before the Tigers put together three runs in the final three innings.
Four USF players recorded multi-hit games, including a 3-for-3 performance by Kristen Wyckoff and two hits each for Juli Weber, Stephanie Medina and Lee Ann Spivey.
Kelly Braman went 2-for-2 for the Tigers, while Ellen Roberts drove in a game-high tying two RBIs.
USF improved to 41-14 with the win while Memphis fell to 23-33 with the loss. The Bulls will face No. 3 seed Louisville in semifinals action on Friday at 4 p.m. CT.
