PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference announced its annual men’s golf awards to cap the 2013-14 season.
UCF senior Greg Eason was named American Men’s Golf Player of the Year while Louisville’s Robbie Geibel was chosen as the American Men’s Golf Freshman of the Year. SMU’s Josh Gregory was tabbed as the American Men’s Golf Coach of the Year.
Eason led the Knights to a top-seven national ranking this season and a runner-up finish at the American Men’s Golf Championship on April 29. The Leicester City, England native has a current average of 70.39 and ranks 10th nationally in the latest Golfstat rankings. Eason has eight top-10 finishes in nine events this season, including six top-three results.
