Louisville Slugs Its Way to Championship Game

HOUSTON - Katie Keller had a grand slam and Brittany Duncan cleared a two-run home run in Louisville's 8-0 (6) win over USF Friday afternoon at Cougar Stadium. The Cardinals advance to the American Softball Championship game and will play the winner of the semifinal between No. 1 UCF vs. No. 5 Rutgers.

Duncan went 2-for-4 with one run and three RBIs. Six different Louisville players connected on at least one hit in the victory.

Juli Weber was 2-for-2 for USF, who fell to 41-15 with the loss. Lee Ann Spivey and D'Anna Devine added one hit apiece for the Bulls.

The score was 0-0 until the Cardinals scored five runs in the top of the second inning to get on board.

Rachel Le Coq (12-8) picked up the win for Louisville while USF's Sara Nevins fell to 27-8 with the loss.
