PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Commissioner Mike Aresco has announced the promotion of three members of the conference staff, effective July 1, 2014.
Mark Hodgkin has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Digital Media, Robert Weygand Jr. has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner for Olympic Sports Administration, while Kenneth Schank has been promoted to Senior Director of Compliance.
“I am pleased to recognize these valued members of our staff who have done exemplary work on behalf of the conference,” said Aresco. “They have made a significant impact, not only in their specific areas of responsibility, but also in support of our overall mission of serving student-athletes and providing a high level of service to our membership.”
Hodgkin joined the conference staff in 2009 and has overseen the conference’s website and social media platforms. He was promoted to Senior Director of Digital Media in 2013 and has been elevated to his new position to reflect his active role in branding and digital media management along with the development of new revenue-generating opportunities. Hodgkin will continue to be the primary point person for The American Digital Network, which made a successful debut in 2013.
Weygand has been with the conference since 2004 and has served as Director of Sport Administration since 2007. He serves as a primary administrator for women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track & field, and men’s and women’s golf, working directly with school administrators, head coaches and game officials in all regular-season and championship matters. With his new title, he will take on a leadership role in the implementation of policies for all of The American’s Olympic sports.
Schank joined the conference staff in 2008 and was named Director of Compliance in 2012. He works directly with compliance officials at member schools and with the NCAA, in the practical interpretation and application of conference and national policies and will be instrumental in the implementation of policies in light of the NCAA Division I governance redesign.
