PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has named Megan Morgan to the position of Associate Commissioner for Communications, Commissioner Mike Aresco announced on Thursday.
"Megan is an extremely talented individual with a wide range of valuable experience and a record of accomplishment," Aresco said. "Her varied experience and outstanding work at Wasserman, Titleist and in other key positions over many years make her uniquely qualified for this important role. We are excited to have her as a part of our Conference’s senior staff."
A senior sports industry executive with many years of experience, Morgan most recently served as Vice President of Consulting at Wasserman Media Group, LLC. She was the lead consultant on sports marketing and partnership strategy and directed media and public relations strategy development for Wasserman clients, including athletes and brands.
Morgan was Director of Tour Communications at Titleist Golf from 2008-2012 and directed the execution of athlete-centered features in conjunction with Titleist’s presenting sponsorship of Golf Central on Golf Channel. She began her career as a Product Development Engineer at Golf Ball R&D in 1997 before being promoted to Senior Product Test Engineer in 2000.
In her new role, Morgan will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Conference’s overall communications strategy, as well as overseeing the day-to-day execution of the Conference’s media relations. She will serve as the primary spokesperson for The American and act as the primary communications liaison between the Conference office and the Conference’s institutions.
Morgan received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Scranton.
