PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer honors for the week ending Sept. 21.
Offensive Player of the Week
John Manga * Jr. * F * Cincinnati
Manga finished with six points in a 2-0 week for Cincinnati. The junior scored a pair of goals in Cincinnati’s 5-0 win at IPFW on Wednesday and netted the game-winner in the 92
nd minute in the 1-0 (OT) win over Eastern Illinois.
Defensive Player of the Week
Matt Remaly * Sr. * B * Cincinnati
Remaly led a strong defensive effort last week as Cincinnati recorded a pair of shutout wins at IPFW and vs. Eastern Illinois. The senior also assisted on the game-winning goal in overtime in the 1-0 win over the Panthers.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Jacob Wagmeister * R-Jr. * UConn
Wagmeister made a career-high seven games in UConn’s 1-1 tie vs. Iona. Wagmeister now has 31 saves on the season and has made at least six saves in three matches this year.
Rookie of the Week
Benjamin Joseph * R-Fr. * MF * SMU
Joseph scored the game-winning goal in SMU’s 2-0 victory over Oral Roberts on Friday. Joseph came in as a substitute for the Mustangs and saw 39 minutes of action.

Helped the Tigers to a 1-1 week; scored two goals in a 3-0 win over Belmont.
Nick Zuniga * Jr. * F * UConn
Scored the game-tying goal for UConn in a 1-1 (2OT) draw vs. Iona.

Scored the insurance goal for SMU and played center back in a 2-0 shutout win over Oral Roberts.
