Weekly Men's Soccer Honors Announced

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer honors for the week ending Sept. 7.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Lucas Baldin * Sr. * MF * USF
Baldin scored both goals, including the game winner in the 110th minute, in USF’s 2-1 double overtime win over RV/25 Akron. The senior added a goal in the Bulls’ 2-0 win over RV Portland and led the team in points (6), goals (3) and shots (7) for the week.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Quincy Thomas * Jr. * D * Memphis
Thomas helped lead the Memphis defense in a 4-0 shutout win over No. 15 Saint Louis. The junior also assisted on a goal versus the Billikens and helped in the defensive effort vs. SIU-Edwardsville after an early goal by the Cougars.  
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Spasoje Stefanovic * Jr. * USF
Stefanovic posted a 0.45 GAA (Goals Against Average) and recorded his first career shutout in USF’s 2-0 win over RV Portland. The junior also made three saves in the Bulls’ 2-1 double overtime win over RV/25 Akron.
 
Rookie of the Week
Danny Lane * Fr. * MF * Memphis
Lane had three points (one assist and one goal) in 33 minutes in Memphis’ 4-0 win over No. 15 Saint Louis. The freshman played 49 minutes in the 2-1 (2OT) win over SIU-Edwardsville.  
 
Weekly Honor Roll
Colten Habecker * Fr. * F * SMU
Scored the match-winner in SMU’s 3-1 win over RV Duke, the Mustangs’ lone game of the week.
 
Cyle Larin * So. * F * UConn
Tallied four points last week; scored a goal at home vs. Stony Brook and a goal on the road at RV/23 Wake Forest.
 
Wesley Charpie * Sr. * D * USF
Helped USF earn its first shutout of the year; assisted on a goal in the 2-0 win over RV Portland.
 
Mason Miller * Jr. * D * UCF
Miller aided a UCF defense that posted a shutout win over Florida Atlantic; led a back four that was down a player.
 
Cameron Drackett * So. * MF * Tulsa
Scored the game-winning goal in Tulsa’s 1-0 (2OT) win over No. 3/3 Virginia; named to the Holiday Inn Hurricane Classic All-Tournament Team.
