This is the first time since Sept. 12, 2004 that the Tigers have been ranked in the Associated Press poll. That 2004 appearance also marked the first-time the Tigers had ever been ranked in the AP Top 25. The program finished in year-end top 25 in other polls twice before. In 1962, the Tigers ranked 17th in the Williamson’s final rankings and in 1963 they ranked 14th in the final UPI rankings.

The Tigers, who finished with a 10-3 mark this season, will start the 2015 season with the nation’s fourth-longest current winning streak (seven games). Only Ohio State (13), Boise State (9) and TCU (8) have longer winning streaks than the Tigers heading in to the 2015 season.
