There are three games on Wednesday's slate, with Temple, UCF and East Carolina the home teams.
Two of the three teams standing at 3-1 in conference play will square off in Philadelphia when Temple hosts SMU. The Owls suffered their first conference defeat Saturday at the hands of league-leading Tulsa, snapping a six-game winning streak. The Mustangs have won 10 out of 11, with the lone blemish coming against Cincinnati Jan. 3.
The Knights will host Tulane at CFE Arena in a series that has been controlled by UCF. The Knights – 8-7 and 1-3 in The American – have won eight of the 10 meetings between the schools and six in a row. Tulane is 12-4 overall on the year and 3-1 in The American, one game back of Tulsa and tied with SMU and Temple. Wednesday's contest is the Green Wave's fifth game away from Devlin Fieldhouse out of its last seven.
East Carolina hosts Houston as both teams look for their first conference win of the year. Each team has two players averaging double figures in scoring. Pirates G B.J. Tyson leads ECU and is second among conference freshmen at 13.3 points per game, while Houston G Jherrod Stiggers leads the Cougars and the conference at 16.8.
