Temple and UConn were the winners in Thursday’s two American Athletic Conference games.
The Owls improved to 13-7 and 4-3 in The American with a 73-48 win over USF in Philadelphia. G Jesse Morgan led all scorers with 19 points while going 5-of-8 from outside. The Owls had 18 offensive rebounds in the win. The Bulls were led by 12 points from G Corey Allen Jr. USF dropped to 7-12 and 1-5 in The American.
G Ryan Boatright had 18 points and seven assists, while F Daniel Hamilton tallied 10 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in UConn’s 67-60 win over UCF at Gampel Pavilion. UConn was 11-of-20 on 3-pointers in the game. The Huskies improved to 10-7 and 3-2 in The American with the win. C Justin McBride had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Knights, who fell to 9-9 and 2-5 in conference play.
There are no games Friday in The American, with Saturday featuring three conference clashes.
