The Game
Friday’s game will be the eighth meeting between Memphis and USF in a series that began in 2001 … Memphis holds a 4-3 series lead and has won three of the last four matchups … Memphis QB Paxton Lynch threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more TDs in the Tigers’ 31-20 win last year … Memphis has won two of the three meetings in Tampa.

Memphis extended its winning streak to 11 games with a 53-46 victory against Cincinnati in a game that featured 12 lead changes … The Tigers scored the go-ahead points with 53 seconds left in regulation after Cincinnati had tied the score with 5:56 left … Memphis is receiving votes in both national polls … The Tigers rank third nationally in scoring offense (53.8 ppg) and are eighth nationally in total offense (570.3 ypg) through four weeks … Memphis’ 11-game winning streak ranks third among FBS programs, behind only Ohio State (17 straight) and TCU (12 straight) … The Tigers have been led offensively by QB Paxton Lynch, who has completed 73.5 percent of his passes (83 of 113) for 1,230 yards and eight touchdowns without an interception … Lynch has earned some early Heisman Trophy buzz with his play this season … RB Jarvis Cooper has rushed for 223 yards and four touchdowns, leading a group of five players with at least 100 rushing yards this season … WR Mose Frazier has a team-high 19 receptions for 248 yards and two touchdowns … K Jake Elliott is one of the top kickers in the nation and has a team-high 45 points (6-6 FG, 27-27 PAT).

USF fell to 1-2 with a 35-17 loss at Maryland in Week 3 … The Bulls had a bye last weekend … USF opened the season with a 51-3 win against Florida A&M … The Bulls then went into halftime tied at 7-7 Florida State before  the Seminoles, took control in the second half … USF averaged 304.7 yards of total offense per game last season, but has averaged 376.7 yards in its first three games of 2015 … The Bulls have gone with sophomore QB Quinton Flowers, who has completed 34 of 59 passes for 326 yards and five touchdowns with three interceptions … RB D’Ernest Johnson is the leading receiver with 10 catches for 193 yards and four TDs … RB Marlon Mack is second on the squad with eight receptions and is averaging 95.0 rushing yards per game … Mack, the 2014 American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, has rushed for 285 yards and a touchdown on 53 carries … The defense has registered seven sacks, a league-leading 25 tackles for loss, and has five interceptions through three games … DT Bruce Hector has a team-high two sacks and four tackles for loss … DT Deadrin Senat leads the team with 19 tackles.

The Game
Friday’s game will be the first meeting between Temple and Charlotte … The Owls have gone 0-3 all-time against members of Conference USA, falling to Louisville in 2003 and Cincinnati and 2002 and 03, when those schools were C-USA members … The game will be the second straight for Temple against an opponent it had not previously faced.
Temple is off to a 3-0 start after the Owls rallied for a 25-23 win at Massachusetts Sept. 19 … The Owls enjoyed a bye in Week 4 … The game against Charlotte is Temple’s third straight road contest … The Owls are 3-0 for the first time since 2010 and are receiving votes in both major national polls this week… Temple has been led offensively by RB Jahad Thomas, who is second in the nation in all-purpose yards (225.7 ypg) … Thomas leads The American in rushing with 394 yards and four touchdowns on 80 carries … QB P.J. Walker has completed 56 of 88 passes (63.6 percent) for 615 yards and three touchdowns … Walker threw for a career-high 391 yards in the win against Massachusetts … WR Robby Anderson has a team-high 12 catches for 112 yards and a TD … The defense is led by LB Tyler Matakevich, who is staking a legitimate claim for the Butkus Award with his play this season … Matakevich has 29 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions and three pass breakups in three games and is the active career leader in total tackles (383) … LB Nate D. Smith has a team-high four sacks, while Matakevich and CB Alex Wells have two interceptions each..

The Game
Friday’s game will be the second meeting between UConn and Brigham Young … The only prior matchup was last season, in East Hartford, Connecticut, as BYU QB Taysom Hill threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 97 yards and another score in the Cougars’ 35-10 victory … The Cougars finished with a 513-355 yardage advantage.
