East Carolina MBB: The Pirates Prepare For Year Two in The American



• The Pirates won six conference games during their first year in The American after winning more than five games only twice (2011, 2013) during the team’s 13 years in Conference USA.

• B.J. Tyson, who led East Carolina in scoring at 12.5 points per game, was unanimously chosen to the conference’s 2014-15 all-rookie team.

• East Carolina set an American Athletic Conference Championship record by making 15 3-pointers in its 2015 quarterfinal matchup against top-seeded SMU. Antonio Robinson, Terry Whisnant and Caleb White each made four 3s apiece

• The Pirates added significant size to their roster with the addition of 6-foot-10 freshman Deng Riak, 6-foot-8 junior Clarence Williams and 6-foot-5 freshman Kentrell Barkley. The trio joins returning juniors Marshall Guilmette and Michel Nzege along with seniors Kanu Aja and Michael Zangari, each listed at 6-foot-8 or taller, in the frontcourt.
