PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The top four seeds comprise the field for the 2015 American Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Championship, which gets underway Friday at Corbett Stadium on the campus of USF. Both games will air on The American Digital Network at 4:30 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. ET.

Fourth-seeded Tulsa (7-6-4 overall, 3-3-2) will meet top-seeded and regular season champion SMU (13-2-3, 7-0-1) in Friday’s opening semifinal game at 4:30 p.m. ET. The Hurricane tied fifth-seeded UCF, 2-2, and advanced to the semifinals on a 4-2 shootout, while the Mustangs defeated No. 8 Cincinnati 2-1 for a trip to the semifinal round. SMU swept the season series over Tulsa in 2015, winning 1-0 in Tulsa on Sept. 26 and 3-2 at home on Oct. 21. The Mustangs are 15-8-6 all-time in conference tournament games. They enter Friday’s semifinal as the top American team (No. 7) in the latest NSCAA national rankings. Tulsa has won eight conference championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament eight times under head coach Tom McIntosh.

The second semifinal game on Friday finds third-seeded UConn (8-5-5 overall, 3-3-2) facing host and second-seeded USF (11-4-3, 5-1-2) at 7 p.m. ET. The Huskies enter Friday’s semifinal on a six-game unbeaten streak and defeated No. 6 Temple, 4-0, to clinch a spot in the conference semifinals for the sixth consecutive season.  Nine different players have accounted for UConn’s 20 goals this season while nine players have also posted assists for the Huskies. The Bulls are 9-0-2 in home games this season and 14-2-3 in postseason home games under head coach George Kiefer. USF has made seven NCAA Tournament appearances in the last eight seasons and is 14th in the nation in the latest NSCAA rankings. The two teams split the season series with USF winning 1-0 on Sept. 26 in Tampa, and UConn taking a 2-1 (OT) victory on Oct. 31 in Storrs, Conn.

Friday’s winners will play for the championship on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.

Both of Friday’s semifinal games will be streamed live on The American Digital Network (www.theamerican.org/watch), while Sunday’s championship match will air live on ESPNU.
