• In 2015 SMU made its 11th appearance in the NCAA tournament and its first trip since 1993.
• The Mustangs defeated UConn 62-54 in The American Championship to earn an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. The title marks the second time SMU has won a conference tournament (1988 Southwest Conference). It is also the second time SMU won both the regular season and tournament titles (1988 SWC).
• SMU was in the national rankings for the final seven regular season polls, entering the NCAA Tournament at No. 18 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and No. 19 in the USA Today Coaches Top 25 poll.
• Nic Moore, The 2014-15 American Player of the Year, will return to SMU to finish his senior year.
• Markus Kennedy was the 2015 American Athletic Conference Sixth Man of the Year, as he averaged 11.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 1.1 assists and shot 54.8-percent from the field in 2014-15.
