Mack, Roberts, DiRocco Earn Weekly Football Honors



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the 11th week of the college football season.

 
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marlon Mack • So. • RB • USF • Sarasota, Fla.
Mack rushed for 230 yards and three touchdowns and had three receptions for 42 yards and a TD to account for 272 all-purpose yards in the Bulls’ 44-23 win against No. 21/21 Temple, moving the Bulls a game behind the Owls in the East Division standings. The win was USF’s first against a top-25 opponent since 2010 and it made USF bowl-eligible for the first time since 2011. Mack’s yardage total is the highest by an American Athletic Conference player and the second-highest in league history, behind his own 275-yard effort in his collegiate debut.


 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Elandon Roberts • Sr. • LB • Houston • Port Arthur, Texas
Roberts had a career-high 18 tackles, including a sack and two tackles for loss, to go with a key interception in Houston’s 35-34 win against No. 25/25 Memphis, keeping the Cougars unbeaten on the season. Roberts’ fourth-quarter interception led to a Houston touchdown as part of the Cougars’ comeback from a 34-14 deficit. Roberts leads The American with 117 tackles this season.


 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Andrew DiRocco • So. • K • Tulane • Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
DiRocco scored 10 points, including the game-winning field goal as time expired, to lift Tulane to a 34-31 win at Army. In a game that was played in near-20-mph winds, DiRocco’s 35-yard kick was his second field goal of the fourth quarter as he also connected on a 31-yard attempt to give the Green Wave a 31-24 lead. DiRocco has gone 7-for-7 on field goal attempts for Tulane this season and is the Green Wave’s leading scorer.

Rushed for 137 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-38 win against Tulsa.
 
Kyle Postma • So. • QB • Houston • Katy, Texas
Came off the bench to complete 21 of 33 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown and rush for a team-high 49 yards and the game-winning score in a 35-34 win against No. 25/25 Memphis.
 
Keenan Reynolds • Sr. • QB • Navy • Antioch, Tenn.
Rushed for 137 yards and four touchdowns and threw for 81 yards and a TD in a 55-14 win against SMU. Set the NCAA career record for rushing touchdowns (81).
 
Emilio Nadelman • So. • K • USF • Miami, Fla.
Scored 14 points, going 3-for-3 on field goal attempts (47, 24, 37) and 5-for-5 on PATs in a 44-23 win against No. 21/21 Temple.
 
Tanzel Smart • Jr. • DT • Tulane • Baton Rouge, La.
Had a game-high nine tackles with two tackles for loss and a forced fumble in a 34-31 win at Army.
