PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Three American Athletic Conference teams remain in the top 25 of the College Football Selection Committee in the third rankings of the 2015 season.
The American has had at least three teams in all three CFP rankings this season. The combined record of The American’s three top-25 teams is 26-3. All three of The American’s ranked teams come from the conferences West Division.
Navy is the highest-ranked of the American Athletic Conference teams as the Midshipmen moved up to No. 16 in the ranking following a 55-14 win against SMU last Saturday The Midshipmen, whose only loss came on the road to No. 4 Notre Dame, take an 8-1 record into Saturday’s game at Tulsa.
Houston moved up five places to No. 19 in the rankings after the Cougars’ 35-34, come-from-behind victory against Memphis last Saturday. One of five unbeaten teams remaining in FBS (10-0), the Cougars take an 11-game winning streak into Saturday’s game at UConn.
Memphis remains at No. 21 in the rankings for the second straight week following the one-point loss at Houston. The Tigers are 8-2 on the year heading into Saturday’s road game at 8-2 Temple.
