Highlights

- Memphis beat Grambling 83-65 at FedExForum, as four players scored in double figures for the Tigers. Freshman Dedric Lawson led the team in scoring for the second consecutive game, with 16 points on 5-of-10 shots from the field and 6-of-10 free throws. Freshman  K.J. Lawson recorded 13 points and went 8-for-10 from the free-throw line, while seniors Ricky Tarrant Jr. and Trahson Burrell each added 12 points for the Tigers. Memphis shot 48.1 percent (25-of-52) from the field, and achieved a season-high free throw total, going 28-of-35 (80 percent) as a team.

- Nic Moore and Ben Moore each tallied 17 points as RV/NR SMU won their road opener against Stanford, 85-70 on Thursday night. Ben Moore also added a team-best seven rebounds, with four assists and a steal, while Nic Moore had four rebounds and a game-high five assists. Senior Markus Kennedy finished with 14 points for the Mustangs, and Jordan Tolbert had 10.

- Temple won its Puerto Rico Tip-Off opener, defeating Minnesota 75-70 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Senior Jaylen Bond led the Owls with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field. Senior Devin Coleman put up 15 points and sophomore Obi Enechionyia registered 14 points, with each hitting three 3-point shots. Senior Quenton DeCosey scored 12 points and passed the 1,000-point mark for his career early in the game.

- USF fell to George Washington, 73-67 at the Sun Dome. Freshman Jahmal McMurray came off the bench and scored a team-high 17 points, while sophomore Roddy Peters followed with 12 points. Chris Perry added 11 points with nine rebounds, while center Jaleel Cousins pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds and had nine points for the Bulls.

- Tulane lost to Southern, 90-82 at F.G. Clark Activity Center in Baton Rouge, La. Junior Malik Morgan led the Green Wave in scoring, with 18 points. Sophomore Dylan Osetkowski notched his second double-double in three games with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while senior guard Louis Dabney also tallied 16 points.
