PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the 10th week of the college football season.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Chris Swain • Sr. • FB • Navy • Macon, Ga.
Swain rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries to help Navy to a 45-20 win against then-No. 15/15 Memphis, snapping the Tigers’ winning streak at 15 games and keeping the Midshipmen unbeaten in American Athletic Conference play. Swain’s first touchdown of the game tied the score at 7-7 in the first quarter, while his 2-yard score in the second period gave the Midshipmen a 14-10 lead. Swain added a key insurance touchdown on a 40-yard run in the third quarter to put Navy ahead, 31-20.

Summers had five tackles, a pass breakup and a 67-yard interception return for a touchdown which stood up as the only TD of the game in UConn’s 7-3 win at Tulane. Summers, who registered his American Athletic Conference-leading sixth interception of the season, keyed a UConn defense which limited the Green Wave to 140 yards of offense and nine first downs while keeping Tulane out of the end zone. Summers and the UConn defense allowed Tulane to cross midfield on only one of the Green Wave’s 15 drives.

Barta helped Navy win the field position battle as the Midshipmen scored a 45-20 win at then-No. 15/15 Memphis, keeping Navy tied for first place in the American Athletic Conference West Division. Barta averaged 45.2 yards on four punts, including one kick that was downed at the Memphis 4-yard line and another downed inside the 1. Barta has averaged 42.0 yards per punt for the Midshipmen this season.

Had a team-high 11 tackles with three tackles for loss in a 22-17 win at East Carolina. Helped limit the Pirates to eight first downs and 220 yards of total offense.

Completed 18 of 25 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 49 yards and a TD on seven carries in a 60-40 win at SMU.
Michael Mudoh • Sr. • S • Tulsa • Houston, Texas
Had 13 tackles, one tackle for loss and an 86-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 45-30 win against UCF.
