Editor's Note: Heading into the Holiday Season and the end of 2015 we thought it would be nice to look back at some of the best plays from the past year. We scoured through lots of video footage and came up with our "12 Plays of Christmas". Every day we will reveal a new play that we consider to be one of our best from the year. The list will end with play number 1 on Christmas Eve.
Play 9 – Cincinnati's Hosey Williams Breaks Free
Watch Play
On October 1, Miami headed north to take on Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium. The Hurricanes came in with a 10-game win streak over the Bearcats. All that would be broken by the end of the night.
Early in the first quarter Miami hit a 41-yard field goal to strike first and take a 3-0 lead. Cincinnati didn't take long to answer back, putting together a scoring drive on the next possesion. On first and ten at the 29 yard line, Hosey Williams looked to have gotten eaten up right at the line of scrimmage. The senior running back kept his feet moving and powered forward escaping two defenders and powering his way all the way to the endzone for the touchdown.
Cincinnati would go on to beat Miami 34-23 in front of a sold out crowd of 40,101. The victory marked the first win for the Bearcats over Miami since 1947.
