No. 1 UConn defeated No. 3 Notre Dame at Gampel Pavilion on Saturday, 91-81. Breanna Stewart led the Huskies in their 43
rd consecutive win with 28 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. Morgan Tuck recorded 21 points, eight assists and seven rebounds while Moriah Jefferson produced 14 points, six assists and three steals. The Huskies went on a 20-2 run in the third quarter en route to the win.
Houston 62, Rice 59
Marche Amerson hit a 3-pointer with 15 seconds remaining to boost Houston past Rice, 62-59, on Saturday afternoon at Tudor Fieldhouse. Amerson finished with five 3-pointers for 15 points. Tyler Gilbert added 12 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive end while Seritha Hawkins added 13 points and eight rebounds. The Cougars pulled down 25 offensive rebounds in the win.
Auburn 83, East Carolina 69
East Carolina suffered its first road loss of the season against Auburn, 83-69, on Saturday afternoon. I’Tiana Taylor registered her third straight double-double with 20 points on 8-for-15 shooting and 14 rebounds. Jada Payne scored a team-high 23 points while DeVaughn Gray added 14 points and Khadidja Toure produced a career-high seven steals.
Akron 74, UCF 54
UCF fell to Akron on Saturday afternoon, 74-54. Makenzie Reasor posted her first career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Joslyn Massey recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds while Ashley Polacek distributed a team-high five assists.
New Mexico 63, SMU 58
SMU dropped a 63-58 contest to New Mexico in Moody Coliseum on Saturday evening. Alicia Froling produced her fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. Ashley Gibson recorded nine points and eight rebounds while Morgan Bolton and McKenzie Adams contributed eight points each.
