East Carolina and Cincinnati tallied victories in Saturday’s American Athletic Conference action.
F Caleb White and G B.J. Tyson each scored 19 points to lead East Carolina past USF 73-60 at Minges Coliseum. F Marshall Guilmette added 13 points for the Pirates, who improved to 12-15 and 5-9 in The American. G Corey Allen Jr. dropped in a game-high 28 for the Bulls.
Cincinnati outscored Houston 38-25 in the second half en route to a 63-53 win over the Cougars at Hofheinz Pavilion. F Shaq Thomas scored a game-high 18 points for the Bearcats, who improved to 18-9 and 9-5 in The American. F Gary Clark tallied 11 points and 14 rebounds for the victors. F Danrad Knowles had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead Houston.

Memphis looks for its third-straight win when the Tigers travel to Orlando to face UCF (2 p.m., CBSSN.) The Tigers held off UConn for a 75-72 win at FedEx Forum Thursday in the return of F Austin Nichols, who had 16 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks. The Knights have won three in a row, with F Kasey Wilson averaging 17.3 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game over that time.
UConn hosts Tulane (4 p.m., CBSSN) as the Huskies look to gain ground on Memphis, one game ahead of UConn in the conference standings and in fifth at 8-5. F Daniel Hamilton had a career-high 25 points in the loss to Memphis Thursday. UConn took the previous meeting between the teams this year, erasing a halftime deficit for a 62-53 win in New Orleans Feb. 7.
The second and third-place teams in the conference standings will battle in Tulsa when the Golden Hurricane hosts Temple (6 p.m., CBSSN.) Tulsa stands at 11-2 in The American following a win over East Carolina Wednesday behind 19 points from G James Woodard and a career-best 16 from F Brandon Swannegan. Temple had a seven-game winning streak snapped by SMU Thursday and is now 10-4 in conference play. Tulsa won the first matchup of the year 63-56 in Philadelphia Jan. 10.
