The American Today - UConn, Memphis, Tulsa Victorious Sunday



UConn, Memphis and Tulsa were winners in Sunday’s American Athletic Conference action.
 
Memphis downed UCF 75-65 in overtime at CFE Arena to improve to 17-10 and 9-5 in The American. F Austin Nichols had 20 points and seven rebounds for the Tigers, who outscored the Knights 16-6 in the extra session. Four UCF players were in double figures, led by 15 points from G Brandon Goodwin.
 
UConn held off Tulane for a 67-60 win at Gampel Pavilion as the Huskies improved to 15-11 and 8-6 in The American. C Amida Brimah led UConn with 19 points while going 8-for-8 from the floor. F Daniel Hamilton had another solid all-around game for the Huskies with seven points, nine rebounds and nine assists. G Louis Dabney had 19 points to lead the Green Wave.
 
Tulsa improved to 19-7 and 12-2 in The American with a 55-39 win over Temple at Reynolds Center. G Rashad Smith had 13 points and 13 rebounds for Tulsa, while G James Woodard led all scorers with 16. G Will Cummings had 15 points for the Owls, who fell to 19-9 and 10-5 in conference play.

Nice win tonight for Tulsa over Temple, 55-39. The Golden Hurricane sit in 2nd place in conference standings behind SMU

The next conference games are Wednesday, with UConn at East Carolina (7 p.m., ESPNU,) UCF at Cincinnati (7:30 p.m., CBSSN) and Tulane at Tulsa (8 p.m., ESPNews.)
