Five American Athletic Conference teams are in action Wednesday with two conference clashes and a nonconference game on the slate.
Temple travels to USF (6:30, ESPNews) as the Owls look to climb out of a three-way tie with Cincinnati and Memphis for third in the conference standings. Temple picked up a 73-48 win over USF in Philadelphia Jan. 22, helped by 10 Owls 3-pointers. The Bulls return to action after taking first-place Tulsa to overtime Saturday, eventually falling by seven.
UConn hosts East Carolina (7 p.m., ESPNU) with G Ryan Boatright on a tear over his last three games, averaging 27.0 points per game. The Huskies will run into a Pirates team that held Cincinnati to 46 points in East Carolina’s win Sunday and has averaged 60.7 points allowed per game over its last three contests.
Memphis hosts Jacksonville State (8 p.m., ESPN3) its final regular season nonconference game at FedEx Forum. Wednesday marks the second consecutive nonconference tune-up for the Tigers, who are 13-8 on the year after falling to No. 3/3 Gonzaga Saturday night. Jacksonville State, out of the Ohio Valley Conference, is 9-15 and 2-8 in conference play.
