PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the week ending Feb. 8.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ryan Boatright • Sr. • G • UConn
Boatright helped UConn to a 2-0 week as he averaged 20.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in wins against East Carolina and Tulane. He shot .520 from the field (13-of-25), .615 from 3-point range (8-of-13) and 1.000 from the free throw line (7-of-7). Boatright scored 23 points with three rebounds and two assists in a 65-52 win against the Pirates and had 18 poins with nine rebounds and five assists in a 62-53 victory against the Green Wave. Boatright, who committed just one turnover in 75 minutes in the two games, leads the American Athletic Conference in scoring at 17.8 points per game.

B.J. Tyson • Fr. • G • East Carolina
Tyson came off the bench to average 15.0 points and 4.5 rebounds and shoot .632 from the field (12-of-19) and .800 from 3-point range (4-of-5) in a 1-1 week for the Pirates. He had 20 points with six rebounds in a 65-52 loss to UConn. He had 10 points and three rebounds in a 67-49 win against UCF.
