Memphis won its 10
th consecutive game with a 3-1 win over Alcorn State. RHP Connor Alexander tossed six shutout innings for the Tigers, who improved to 14-4. CF Darien Tubbs extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a two-hit day.
No. 22/25 Houston was victorious for the ninth straight game as the Cougars downed New Mexico 8-7 for a three-game sweep of the Lobos. 1B Chris Iriart drove in a pair of runs, including the game-winner on a ninth-inning sac fly. Houston improved to 17-7 with the win.
USF scored three runs in the 10
th inning for an 8-5 win over No. 25/24 Illinois. C Levi Borders hit a two-run double in the extra frame to give the Bulls the lead. RHP Tommy Peterson picked up the win in relief, throwing 3.2 innings of one-run ball while striking out four. USF improved to 16-8-1 with the win.
No. 7/14 UCF tied a season-high in runs scored with an 18-4 win over Presbyterian. SS Dylan Moore drove in a pair of runs to increase his league-leading total to 34 RBIs in the Knights’ first 25 games. DH Kyle Marsh had a three-RBI day for UCF, which moved to 20-5.
UConn split a doubleheader with Seton Hall, taking the second game 6-3 after falling 3-0 in the first game. 2B Vinny Siena and C Max McDowell combined to reach base in all 10 of their plate appearances in Game 2. UConn moved to 13-8 on the year.
East Carolina fell 3-2 to VCU in Greenville. SS Kirk Morgan drove in a pair of runs for the Pirates, who dropped to 16-8.
Tulane dropped a 6-2 decision at UC Riverside. RF Lex Kaplan hit his third home run of the year in the defeat with a two-run shot in the sixth.
