Temple advanced to the NIT quarterfinals with a win Sunday, while Tulsa will look to do the same Monday.
 
G Will Cummings scored 21 points and G Jesse Morgan added 20 as Temple downed George Washington 90-77 in second round action of the NIT at Liacouras Center. The Owls shot 50-percent for the game, including an even 60-percent in the second half. F Jaylen Bond grabbed 15 rebounds in the win, which improved Temple to 25-10. The Owls will face either Texas A&M or Louisiana Tech Wednesday at Liacouras Center with a trip to Madison Square Garden on the line. The Aggies and Bulldogs will meet Monday with the winner taking the trip to Philadelphia.
 
Tulsa plays its second round NIT game when the Golden Hurricane hosts Murray State (9 p.m., ESPN). The Golden Hurricane got past William & Mary 70-67 in its opening NIT game Tuesday. The Racers were regular-season champions in the Ohio Valley Conference after going undefeated in conference play, and are 103-28 over the last four seasons under head coach Steve Prohm.
