The American Today - Tulane Shutout, Iriart's Record Homer Highlight Sunday

Tulane recorded another shutout Sunday to clinch a series win, while Houston completed a sweep and East Carolina picked up a road series win.
 
Tulane recorded its league-leading eighth shutout of the year and second of the weekend in a seven-inning, 10-0 win over No. 19/19 UCF. RHP Alex Massey tossed 6.1 scoreless innings, while SS Stephen Alemais had three hits and two RBIs out of the leadoff spot, as Tulane moved to 24-15 and 5-7 in conference play. UCF fell to 26-15 and 5-7 in The American.
 
Houston completed a sweep of Cincinnati with a 9-2 win. 1B Chris Iriart broke the single-season conference home run record with his 13th long ball of the year while DH Jacob Campbell drove in three runs. LHP Seth Romero went 8.2 innings and surrendered two unearned runs for the Cougars, who moved to 26-14 and 7-5 in The American. DH Jake Richmond had two of the four hits for Cincinnati, which fell to 12-26 and 4-8 in conference action.
 
East Carolina tallied a 4-3 win in 10 innings at UConn. LF Eric Tyler lifted a sac fly to left to score CF Garrett Brooks with the winning run. LHP Reid Love threw 6.1 innings of one-run ball for the Pirates, who improved to 24-16 and 6-6 in The American. CF Jack Sundberg had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Huskies, who dropped to 25-15 and 6-6 in conference play.
