Tulane, Memphis' Fletcher Advance to NCAA Championships

after tying for fifth at the South Bend Regional on May 9. The Green Wave carded a 7-over 295 during the final round of action at the Warren Golf Course. Tulane made its first trip to the national title round in 2005, followed by appearances in 2009 and 2010. Since then the Green Wave has been a regular in the championship chase over the last three seasons, including a school-best ninth-place finish in 2013, and a 15th place effort last year.

Tulane will join the 24-team field in the national title chase at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships, May 22-27, at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.

Fletcher carded a three day score of 217 for a top five finish and earned one of three individual bids for the NCAA Championship. The freshman will be joined by Idaho's Leilanie Kim and Kentucky's Isabelle Johansson at the NCAA Championship Finals. Fletcher played all three rounds with Kim at the South Bend Regional.

Fletcher is the first Lady Tiger golf player to advance to the NCAA Finals field from the current regional site setup. In the first tournament field, Christy Dristy (1982) received an individual bid to the tournament field, but there were not regional sites to advance through in that first set up. Two other Lady Tiger golfers, Alissa Lauder (1994) and Marie-Louise Hviid (1996) also advanced to NCAA Regionals, but did not advance to the finals field.
