The American Today- UCF, East Carolina, Houston and Memphis Winners Thursday

Houston moved to the doorstep of the regular-season title, while UCF, East Carolina and Memphis were also winners Thursday in The American.
 
No. 19/21 Houston scored twice in the bottom of the 10th for a 5-4 win over UConn. SS Connor Wong drove in the winning run after Houston tied the game on an RBI double from LF Corey Julks. With the win, the Cougars improved to 37-17 and 14-8 in The American. CF Jack Sundberg hit a three-run double in the seventh for the Huskies, who fell to 33-21 and 11-11 in The American.
 
RF Erik Barber homered twice and drove in four runs as UCF defeated USF 12-9 in Tampa. The Knights scored four in the first and six in the fourth to improve to 31-23 and 10-12 in conference play. 2B Kevin Merrell had two RBIs for the Bulls, who dropped to 30-22-1 and 11-11 in The American.
 
CF Darien Tubbs and LF Kane Barrow each drove in two runs as Memphis downed Tulane 7-3. C Carter White had three hits for the Tigers, who improved to 35-17 and 12-10 in The American. 2B Jake Willsey had three hits and an RBI for Tulane, which fell to 31-21 and 11-11 in the conference.
 
The bottom two spots in the order drove in four runs in East Carolina’s 7-3 win over Cincinnati. C Travis Watkins and CF Garrett Brooks each had two RBIs for the Pirates, who improved to 34-20 and 13-9 in The American. RF Ian Happ hit his 14th home run of the year for the Bearcats, who dropped to 15-37 and 6-16 in conference play.
