PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the week ending May 3.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Treg Haberkorn • Fr. • OF • Cincinnati
Haberkorn hit .429 (6-for-14) with five runs batted in as Cincinnati took two of three at No. 24 Memphis. The Leo, Indiana, native had his first-career three-hit game and drove in two runs in the Bearcats’ 11-4 win in Memphis Friday while also recording his first multi-steal game of his collegiate career. Haberkorn went 3-for-5 with three runs batted in and a stolen base in Cincinnati’s 5-4, 12-inning battle with Memphis Saturday.

A Houston pitcher earns conference honors for the third consecutive week and fifth time this year with Dowdy’s second selection in three weeks. The 6-2 right-hander from San Diego tossed a four-hit shutout in the No. 22 Cougars’ 3-0 win over Tulane Saturday. Houston would go on to take two of three in the series and grab a share of first place in the conference standings with six games to go. For the year, Dowdy is 7-1 with a 2.77 ERA in 15 appearances (eight starts) and two shutouts.
