SS Kyle Teaf and 2B Kevin Merrell combined to drive in four runs out of the top two spots in the USF order as the Bulls downed Florida Atlantic 5-3 in Gainesville, Florida. RHP Jimmy Herget tallied his 10
th win of the year and RHP Tommy Peterson added his 16
th save as USF moved to 34-24-1. The Bulls will face Florida Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
No. 23/25 East Carolina fell 6-3 to Columbia in the Pirates’ opening game of the Coral Gables Regional. RF Eric Tyler drove in two runs for ECU, which dropped to 40-21. The Pirates will clash with FIU in an elimination game Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.
Tulane was defeated 10-1 by UNC Wilmington in the Green Wave’s first game of the Baton Rouge Regional. RF Lex Kaplan drove in the lone run for the Green Wave as Tulane fell to 34-24. The Green Wave will play Lehigh in an elimination game Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
