Memphis' Richwood, Tulsa's Horner Earn Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference has announced winners of the league’s final weekly softball honors for games ending May 3.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Catherine Horner * C *Jr. * Tulsa
Horner went 8-for-10 with a 1.300 slugging percentage and a .818 on-base percentage with six RBIs and four runs to lead Tulsa to a three-game sweep at UConn over the weekend. The Hurricane secured the No. 2 seed at the upcoming American Athletic Conference Championship with the wins. Four of Horner’s eight hits went for extra bases, as she tallied three doubles and a triple in the series vs. UConn. She had three multi-hit contests against the Huskies and scored a run in Tulsa’s non-conference win over Missouri State on Wednesday.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Jordan Richwood * Sr. * Memphis
Richwood went 2-0 last week, picked up two complete game wins and struck out five or more batters in each decision. The senior opened the week with a five K performance in a non-conference win over Murray State and struck out seven batters in a 1-0 win over Houston on Saturday. Richwood gave up just two walks during 14 innings of action last week with no earned runs for a 0.00 ERA.
