USF Advances to American Softball Championship Semifinals with 5-0 Win over East Carolina

ORLANDO – Three players had multi-hit games for USF in the Bulls’ 5-0 win over East Carolina Thursday afternoon at UCF Softball Complex. Fifth-seeded USF advanced to the American Softball Championship semifinals with the win and will play tournament host and No. 1 seed UCF on Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET.

Juli Weber, Monica Santos and Astin Donovan had two hits apiece for the Bulls (36-19). Eight different USF players connected on at least one hit in the victory.



Mary-Sloan Bradford was 2-for-3 for the Pirates, who fell to 16-37 with the loss. Abby Wynne, Ali Ramirez, Andie Johnson and Meredith Mitchell added one hit apiece for East Carolina.

The Bulls scattered two runs across the board in the first six innings before a three-run seventh inning pushed the score to 5-0.

In the circle, Sam Greiner (9-5) picked up the win for USF while Lydia Ritchie fell to 4-8 with the loss for East Carolina.
