NCAA Wednesday Recap: Memphis' Pujats National Runner-Up in Men's Pole Vault

EUGENE, Ore. - The 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships opened Thursday with athletes from six American Athletic Conference members in action.
 
Memphis senior Pauls Pujats was the national runner-up in the men’s pole vault at 18-2.5/5.55m. Cincinnati freshman Adrian Valles finished fifth (18-0.5/5.50m), while UConn sophomore Craig Hunter was eighth (17-8.5/5.40m). UConn senior Cory Duggan was tied for 14th (16-10.75/5.15m) while USF senior was tied for 16th at the same height.
 
A pair of Memphis athletes competed in the men’s javelin. Junior Kyle Bynum finished eighth (229-10/70.07) while freshman Michael Criticos was 13th (223-4/68.09m).
 
Tulane junior Devon Breaux finished 19th in the men’s long jump (24-5/7.44m). In the one track final of the first day, Tulsa sophomore Marc Scott placed 11th in the men’s 10,000 (29:37.18).
 
In track semifinals, Houston’s Isaac Williams qualified for the 110-meter hurdles final with a time of 13.56. The men’s 4x100-meter relay team was disqualified.
 
Tulsa’s Bryce Robinson finished 12th in the men’s 200-meter dash (20.38), while fellow Golden Hurricane Simon Greiner placed 21st in the men’s 800-meter run (1:49.88).
 
Action continues Friday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
