SKILLMAN, N.J. – Tulane junior Dominik Koepfer was named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-America Team, as announced by the ITA Thursday.
Koepfer went 17-4 in singles play during the spring and advanced to the Round of 32 at the NCAA Singles Championships in Waco, Texas, in May. The native of Furtwangen, Germany, finished the spring ranked No. 18 by the ITA and was an American Athletic Conference all-conference selection in addition to being named the Men’s Tennis Player of the Year in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) All-Louisiana awards. Koepfer defeated six ranked opponents during the spring.
The Green Wave junior’s 2014-15 campaign began with a run to the quarterfinals of the ITA All-American Championships in October, knocking off two top-10 opponents along the way. Koepfer followed that by advancing to the semifinals of the USTA/ITA Indoor Collegiate Championships November.
As a team, the Green Wave finished the year No. 41 in the ITA rankings and defeated four ranked teams while advancing to the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Championship
