NOTES
Temple was tabbed as the AutoNation National Team of the Week after the Owls earned a 27-10 win against Penn State to start the 2015 season … Temple picked up its first win against the Nittany Lions since 1941 and snapped a 39-game winless streak (0-38-1) to their Keystone State neighbors … While the result wasn’t so much a surprise, the Owls’ dominance through the final three quarters was remarkable … Temple scored the last 27 points of the game, registered an American Athletic Conference record 10 sacks and held Penn State to 180 yards of offense … Temple’s offense was led by RB Jahad Thomas, who rushed for a game-high 135 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries … QB P.J. Walker was 15-for-20 for 143 yards and added a rushing touchdown … The defense was the story, however, as LB Tyler Matakevich registered three sacks, DE Nate D. Smith had two and DE Haason Reddick had 1.5 … LB Sharif Finch added a key 26-yard interception return, while P Alex Starzyk averaged 46.9 yards on seven punts to help flip field position early … The game was played in front of a record crowd of 69,176 at Lincoln Financial Field.
