Friday Women's Soccer Recap: The American teams finish 9-0 with 7 shutouts

The American Athletic Conference women's soccer teams won all nine non-conference games (9-0-0) that were played on Friday, while seven out of the nine victories were shutouts. Three teams - No. 20/NR UConn, RV/NR USF, and Tulsa - all still remain undefeated this season.

Highlights

- With Cincinnati's 2-0 win over Saint Francis (Pa.), senior goalkeeper Sam Pavlika earned her third shutout of the season and remains undefeated (3-0-1) on the year. Senior Danielle Rotheram tallied a goal and an assist in the Bearcats’ victory while freshman Jordan Cotleur recorded her second goal of the season.

- No. 20/NR UConn extended its winning streak to six games with a 
3-0 defeat of the Army Black Knights. Junior Rachel Hill registered her sixth goal of the season, while senior Liana Hinds and sophomore Tanya Altrui each added a goal for UConn. 

- Freshman Courtney Cash led East Carolina to a 1-0 (2OT) victory over Western Carolina, with her game-winning goal in the 107th minute. Junior Lana Spitler was credited with the assist. The Pirates' senior goalkeeper, Saundra Baron, made four saves in her second-straight shutout and fourth on the year.

- Houston recorded the team's second shutout win of the 2015 campaign, taking down McNeese State, 3-0. Senior Lexa Green and freshman Desiree Bowen each scored for the Cougars, while both tallied their second goals of the season. Hailey Kirkwood netted her first goal of the season in the 14th minute.

- A second-half goal by freshman Chanel Hudson-Marks helped boost Memphis to a 1-0 victory over UT Martin. Goalkeeper Maryse Bard-Martel had two saves in 90:00 minutes for the Tigers, earning her third shutout of the season.

 
- RV/NR USF downed the Charlotte 49ers, 2-1, to remain undefeated on the season (6-0-0). Sophomore Brittany Raymond lifted the Bulls to the victory as she notched the golden goal in the 60th minute. Sophomore Ocean Parr put USF on the board in the 43rd minute, recording her third goal of the season. Goalkeeper Kat Elliott made five saves in the match, rounding out her season total to 24 saves.

- Junior Paige Jacobs tallied two goals for SMU in the team's 3-1 defeat of Sam Houston State. Jacobs now has three goals on the season, after registering her first in the Mustangs' previous match against Maryland. Sophomore Lauren Guerra added the third goal for SMU - also her third of the season - in the 63rd minute.

- Temple snapped its two-game losing streak and improved to 5-2-0 on the season, as the team took down New Hampshire, 4-0. Senior Kelly Farrell and freshman Sarah McGlinn each netted two second-half goals for the Owls in the victory. Farrell now leads the conference in goals, with seven in the 2015 season.

- Tulsa remains unstoppable after beating Indiana State, 1-0, and recording the team's seventh consecutive win this season. Senior Elisabetta Impagliazzo scored her second career goal and the game-winner for the Hurricane in the 52nd minute. Courtney McKeon spent all 90:00 minutes in goal for Tulsa, and had three saves.
