PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference has announced winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for games ending Jan. 17.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Shaq Goodwin • Sr. • F • Memphis
Goodwin averaged 17.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week with wins over Temple and USF. The Tigers moved to 3-1 in American Athletic Conference play and 12-5 overall with the pair of victories. Goodwin scored a game-high 22 points to go along with 10 rebounds in a 67-65 win over Temple on Wednesday. He made 7-of-14 shots from the field and 8-of-11 from the charity stripe versus the Owls.

Dedric Lawson • Fr. • G/F • Memphis
Lawson had a double-double in each game last week, averaging 17.0 points and 12.0 rebounds overall, in wins over Temple and USF. He opened the week with 16 points and 12 rebounds versus the Owls while shooting 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Lawson scored a game-high 18 points Saturday against USF with 12 rebounds. He made 87-percent (13-of-15) of his free-throw attempts over the week.

Scored a game-high 22 points Saturday in a double overtime win over NR/RV Cincinnati, averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game
