Breanna Stewart scored 21 points in 21 minutes to lead No. 1 UConn in a 106-51 win against UCF on Wednesday night at the XL Center. The Huskies have won 54 straight games, tying Louisiana Tech (1980-82) for the third-longest streak in the history of Division I women's basketball. UConn currently owns the top two winning streaks of 90 games (2008-11) and 70 (2001-03). Gabby Williams produced a career-high 19 points, seven rebounds and three steals in the win. Zykira Lewis led the Knights in points (20) and rebounds (6) while Aliyah Gregory and Ashley Polacek contributed 13 and 10 points.
Memphis 88, No. 15 USF 87
Ariel Hearn had a career night in the Tigers’ upset of No. 15 USF, 88-87, in overtime on Wednesday at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. Hearn, who hit the game's last two free throws to give Memphis an 88-84 lead with three seconds left in the extra period, scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Memphis. The senior forward played all 45 minutes of the contest, and added six assists and five steals. Asianna Fuqua-Bey recorded a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Courtney Williams led four Bulls’ players in double figures with 22 points while Kitija Laksa finished with 20 points.
NR/RV Tulane 54, SMU 42
NR/RV Tulane captured its third straight road win with a 54-42 win against SMU at Moody Coliseum on Wednesday. Kolby Morgan paced the Green Wave with 21 points, including 4-of-8 from behind the arc. Chinwe Duru finished with eight points, nine rebounds and five blocks while Leslie Vorpahl added nine points and five assists. Alicia Froling registered her eighth double-double of the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Mustangs while McKenzie Adams led the offense with 12 points.
East Carolina 63, Cincinnati 60
I’Tiana Taylor powered East Carolina past Cincinnati, 63-60, on Wednesday at Williams Arena in Minges Coliseum. Taylor tallied her conference-leading 11th double-double of the year with 24 points and a career-high 19 rebounds. Marina Laramie added 15 points and seven rebounds while Jada Payne turned in a well-balanced game with eight points, eight rebounds, five assists and three blocks. Ana Owens led the Bearcats with 21 points while Alyesha Lovett recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Tulsa 79, Houston 62
Ashley Clark scored a career-high 33 points to lead Tulsa in a 79-62 road win over Houston on Wednesday night at the Hofheinz Pavilion. Clark led five Golden Hurricane players in doubles figures and shot 14-of-21 from the floor in the win. Kelsee Grovey contributed 12 points while Erika Wakefield and Teanna Reid added 11 points. Kierra Graves and Cenecia Newman scored career-highs with 15 and 14 points to lead the Cougars.
