The American Today: Vorpahl Nets Career-High in Win Against East Carolina

Breanna Stewart nearly logged a triple-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds and nine blocks in a 90-37 win over  SMU on Saturday afternoon at Moody Coliseum. Stewart also added seven assists and three steals. Moriah Jefferson scored 19 points to go with six assists and six steals. Jefferson became the third player in program history to recorded 500 career assists and 300 steals. UConn extended its winning streak to 55 games, the third-longest in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history. McKenzie Adams led the Mustangs with 13 points while Alicia Froling registered 12 points and seven rebounds.  
 
NR/RV Tulane 78, East Carolina 73
Kolby Morgan, Leslie Vorpahl and Courtnie Latham combined for 57 points in the Tulane 78-73 win against East Carolina on Saturday. Vorpahl led the way with a career-high 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field. Morgan recorded 18 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Latham added 12 points. Jada Payne led four Pirates in double figures with a game-high 28 points on 11-for-15 shooting, including four 3-pointers. Marina Laramie added 12 points, while I’Tiana Taylor and DeVaughn Gray contributed 10 points each.  
 
Memphis 69, Tulsa 58
Memphis captured a road win against Tulsa, 69-58, on Saturday afternoon. Mooriah Rowser led three Tigers in double figures with a game-high 14 points. Chevenne Crieghton scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Ariel Hearn added 10 points and three steals. Ashley Clark paced the Golden Hurricane with 14 points while Kelsee Grovey  and Teanna Reid chipped in nine points apiece.
