Moriah Jefferson, Breanna Stewart and Morgan Tuck of UConn were named to the Ann Myers Drysdale Award Midseason Watch List, as announced by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association on Monday.
Last season, Stewart joined five former greats as a two-time winner of the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award. The other two-time winners were Virginia’s Dawn Staley ('91, '92), Tennessee's Chamique Holdsclaw ('98, '99) and Candace Parker ('07, '08), UConn's Maya Moore '09, '10), and Baylor's Brittney Griner ('12, '13).
The women’s national player of the year (Ann Myers Drysdale Award) will be presented at the College Basketball Awards gala in Oklahoma City on April 11, 2016, at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
The USBWA, comprised of nearly 1,000 sports journalists covering college basketball for newspapers, magazines and websites, will select the recipient of the award.
